Abstract

Abstract: Chirostopher Marlowe, a prominent figure in Elizabethan literature, is often celebrated for his contributions to the genre of carpe diem poetry. This article delves into Marlowe's unique approach to the carpe diem theme, focusing on his use of language, imagery, and structure to convey the fleeting nature of time and the urgency of seizing the moment. Through close analysis of selected poems such as "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" and "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd," this study explores how Marlowe captures the essence of carpe diem philosophy while also infusing it with his own distinctive style and worldview.
