THE LINGUISTIC AND PRAGMATIC ASPECTS OF PUBLIC SPEAKING IN SOCIAL LAYERS
Abstract
Effective communication in a variety of social contexts requires the critical skill of public speaking. Public speaking is an important tool for influencing decisions, forming opinions, and communicating with a variety of audiences. This is true for both political and business presentations. In order to better understand how language choices, speech patterns, and non-verbal cues all contribute to successful public speaking, this article examines the pragmatic and linguistic aspects of public speaking across various social layers.
